Are you a successful human being?

There is one question that has always been ringing on my mind. "How do you rate the success of a human being??". No doubt as an Engineer I would always like to have an absolute quantitative measure to the success or failure of human life. Is it possible? There are a lot of constraints. How do you compare technical excellence and creative intelligence? How do you compare physical brilliance and philosophical knowledge? We know a great list of successful people. But there is one thing common to everyone of them. I think in their graph of life, their crests are as high as the depth of their troughs. So, as you would know, Their averages again reduce to a minimal. In the ages to come, people will soon forget and move on, as they did to every Tom, Dick and Harry in history.

So, HOW DO YOU RATE THE SUCCESS OF AN INDIVIDUAL if the success of so called successful people is so confusing? For an average human being, supporting his family is a success. So, the measure of success should be independent of the actual goal.It should just be proportional to the number of times the goal is obtained. {Because goals vary based on each individual}.Also, the measure of success should be independent of the individual, his likes/dislikes, his passion, his talent {because not all people are equally talented} and everything else that cannot be generalized. However, Success should always be proportional to the effort. OK, So based on the above facts, I Formed this theory of life on my own. It might be wrong, but I am happy its my own.

Success of a human life = Number of times he has achieved the goal where the GOAL should be selfless and should be positive for the consequent of the goal.

This is nothing new. IT comes from Nature. EVERYONE lives a symbiotic life where GIVE=TAKE. But the men who stand out on the sands of time in the annals of human life are those who have GIVE>TAKE.

So, my conclusion, Your success is actually equal to the success of that human being whom you have helped selflessly to succeed. Now, IF you think of everyone successful, This theory holds. :)

This is like a the teasers you see when the main picture gets boring. Sharing some of my "poems" :)

Note : Came up with these easy play of words while I was thinking about "Love at first sight".

Note: Dedicated to all those who were, are and will be cheated by women.

P.S : "தாய்குளம் வாழ்க ". This is just an idea that occurred to me and not my opinion. It does not apply to all women.

Note: Live to love. Love to live. :)

Note: To all those wonderful talks we have. :)

Note : During one of those dreadful days, where you start questioning whether your existence makes any difference to this world.

E-L-E-C-T-I-O-N R-E-S-U-L-T-S 2011

After two days of delay thanks to PC repair, which took two computer science engineers from anna university wondering WHAT the hell could be wrong, only to be figured out by a BCA student that it was just "dust" in the processor that caused the repair and after two more days of blog maintenance repair by blogger.com. Here I am :)(Back to boring you :P)

Anyway, in between these four days was that ONE DAY IN FIVE YEARS where everyone is glued to their television sets, radios and newspapers, NOT FOR CRICKET SCORES,NOT FOR MOVIE RELEASES and NOT FOR WEATHER FORECASTS. It is a genuine curiosity to know what their fellow beings are thinking and who is the new leader to be incarnated. As it turned out, 2011 election results was like one of those Aus Vs Ban matches, where right from the first ball you know who is going to be the winner. Clearly, People Voted for CHANGE. IT was more of a NO CONFIDENCE MOTION rather than a support for the opposition.

At 1 o'clock, it became clear who is going to be the new CM and i went to watch the movie "KO" {ironic isn't it? :D}. As it turned out, the film was good except for the heroine which has become a cliche in Tamil films. Take out the heroine, a couple of her songs and scenes, you will have a good movie. I don't know when our directors are going to realize this.

With the election results and the movie kindling my thoughts, I began wondering what will be the time when people start questioning their candidates for qualification. For being placed in a software company, i had to go through 7 rounds of processing! But for someone who has the power to change the country, all it takes is M-O-N-E-Y, F-A-M-E or in some cases C-A-S-T-E. Perplexed at the attitude of the people, all i could say was no matter even if 100% people turn up to vote and everyone votes based on their choice, If the candidates are not selected based on their educational and moral background, all we can form is a clumsy government, which we will have to wait for 5 more years to be dethroned and to be given to someone even worse. All i can say now is,

"Raman andalum ravanan andalum enakkoru kavalai illai".

Because

"Intha ulagathil evanume raman illai".

Lyric Engineering..

It might be too early for most of you to be aware of this term. But it has arrived. And i must say with a bang!!!

What is this lyric engineering?
It is a product that results when a successful poet and lyricist's son ends up becoming a computer science professor. So, the product combines the best of both the fields. OK, to be less confusing, Lyric Engineering is the process finding the suitable words for the song based on its tune. An ideal lyric engineering system should be able to give lyrics as output when given a tune input. The output is based on the following conditions
"1. The words form meaningful sentences that suits the situation provided.
2. The phonemes in the words to suit the mood of the tune and situation.
3. Maximize edhugai monai and iyaibu properties of lyrics without compromising conditions 1 & 2.
4. Find words and phrases that are simple, not been used before and semantically related to each other."

For more details, visit http://madhankarky.blogspot.com/2009/11/lyrics-lyric-engineering.html

So, although I was AWESTRUCK when I heard that "Irumbile" song was lyric engineered, I have started wondering if this is the right path for the future. I am not at all denying the powerfulness or the efficiency of the software. Its the concept behind that I am skeptical about. Can these systems be fully developed to automise the process, removing the need for a lyricist?
Of course, with the lyrics being penned down these days such as
"En toothpaste nee than, en shower gel nee than..","Evan peathan, avan sethan bla bla",
I would rather pray for the fast development of such systems. However, I doubt the sheer imaginative capacity of such a software. Would it be able to meet the standards set by its own source(I trace it back to Mr.Vairamuthu{father(father("Lyric Engg"))) ?

So, Its NEW. It might create one of those classic debates. "Lyric Engg - Augurs or Hinders Creativity?". No one knows the answer. AS of now,"Google kanatha thedalgalil ithuvum ondru :)"

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRST VWXYZ..

(Can't comprehend the title?? Look out for the tag.)

Its amazing how the perception of life can be totally changed by the presence or absence of someone. Someone you LOVE. You never realize how much someone means to you as long as you haven had a chance to miss them. Missing someone is your heart's way of saying, "You idiot, you need him/her to survive". I have had the chance to miss someone and it showed me what she means to me. She is my OXYGEN. The very reason for my existence. I wonder if there is any Tamil equivalent for "I miss you". For its the first time i feel i am not able to express something in my mother tongue. But I know languages are just representations of emotions and if they can be felt, there is no need for explicit explanations..

So make it a point,NEVER HESITATE to tell, Your out-of-touch school or college friends, Your loved ones living across borders, Your cousins and relatives living in different towns, Your siblings studying in different places, Your parents,Your teachers, last but not least, Your Crush,Partner,Beloved or Wife whom you haven seen for a week, ANYONE AND EVERYONE AS AND WHEN YOU FEEL,

"I miss you.I need you back for the normal functioning of my life".

For its one of the most beautiful emotions. Although not completely human, Missing is one of the most wonderful human attributes that depicts the yearning for connectivity and support from another soul. IT makes us What we are.
Connected set of individuals!

Passion=Profession? Jealous!

How many days have gone by you in your life where you have felt "NOTHING HAPPENED TODAY.OMG!! WHAT DID I EVEN DO TODAY??". What do you think makes the real difference? We would have done the same thing as the day before. The difference is the drive. What is passion? It is something that can sustain that drive for a lifetime. Almost all of us at some point have wondered about the monotonicity of life. Isn't in our hands to make it better? Identifying your passion is not difficult. Its about pursuing in that path. Would you think Kamal Haasan would ve never acted, if he had not become a successful one? Of course, no. Would Sachin have not played cricket if he had'n achieved anything? NO! He would have still been playing in those streets of Mumbai. This is because the drive is not towards glory. It is towards the contentment of the soul. It is the pleasure. THE REAL ONE. Passion could be ANYTHING. Cleaning, Playing,Eating,Flying,Acting,Coding,Designing.ANYTHING. But you should let it out. NO matter what. Its as important to your soul as eating is to your body. So, the next time, you have a chance to do something that your soul yearns, just let it out, for life is not about the milestones but about the moments !! :)
