Are you dumb? Doesn't matter.

So, What do you think of yourself?

1. An intelligent person who can understand or solve anything really quick.
2. A mediocre person who takes his own time, eventually figures everything out and solves it.
3. The supposedly-dumb person who puts his entire life in solving this problem, only to encounter another one.

OK, no matter who you are, I am gonna stick out my tongue and say, ALL OF US ARE EQUAL.

For all you can say, intelligence is a relative measure. I don't believe in I.Q's. What I see is What I know. Each and everyone of us can solve the problem. So, what if we apply brute force, Its just the first time. I m bound to get better next time. Intelligence is not a big deal. It is very much equivalent to the knowledge acquired through repetitive learning.

If you are intelligent, you are just lucky.
If you are successful, hats off to your hard work.

Success does not require intelligence as long as you are willing to bridge the gap with your hard work.

So, to all those intelligent geniuses, ALL I WANNA SAY IS, WE WILL ALL BE THERE WITH YOU ONE DAY. You are blessed and we have worked, its all the same.

Variety - "truly" the spice of life.

Have you ever wondered how life would be when you know what might happen next? Although exciting at first, deeper thoughts will tell you that it would be very very boring because the intrinsic beauty of life lies in its uncertainities, the unexplored perceptions, the constant race of time, trying to run faster only to become aware that we need to go back. Life is not all about achievements, its about the mistakes. If we are right all the time, we might as well not live at all.

Of course, you could have lived differently. Ofcourse, you could have chosen to go to the movie instead of a semester exam. Of course you could have supported your wife rather than your mom. Everything in life comes with its own merits and demerits. Its the package that you accept. And, its your choice that matters the most. Make mistakes. Try to back your decisions. If you are not gonna defend yourself,no one else will.

So, forget all the things that went wrong. They had gone wrong for a reason which is yet to be known. Try not to think tooo much. Live simple, Love life , Be happy, be sad. Life is a mixture. You cant isolate parts of it.

The next time we have a choice between logic and magic, I know where my vote is.

The biggest thrill in life is to LIVE IT!!!!

Mumbai Morgan and me..

Place : Chennai

I wrote the written test for this company called Morgan Stanley.. I had no idea what it did.. I knew that the post was open only for CS and IT.. Having nothing better to do, I just gave it at try just because I was eligible
(barely, the cut off was 8 and my cgpa was 8.1 :P :P)..

After the test, I was so sure that I wouldn't clear it..I dint bother to attend the presentation and I came back home to watch Sachin score his century!

My friend also told me that "Machi, presentation la ennanavo solranga da, salray um jaasthi, namakku vaipe illa "

Re affirmed by the phone call.. I was about to sleep...

Suddenly I got a call from my friend saying I got selected to the next round :O ( DAMN! THOSE MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS :P)

Then technical, HR , Group activity , further Technical rounds and I cleared :O ( PLS DON't ASK ME HOW, for I myself don't no!! )

Now...

Place : Goregaon,Mumbai

Its been three weeks. The only word that can describe this period is EXPERIENCE! Every day was an experience.

1.First time flight. Severe headache. After I landed, my cousin calls and says "Hey, I forgot to tell you, you should have had cotton in your ears!" #padupavi..

HINDI!!
OH GOD! I barely managed to pass prathmic! Now I m in bombay ?? :O You won't have any idea how tough it is..

2. Second day of work, LOST MY PASSPORT! CAN YO BELIEVE IT? PASSPORT!!!!!!!!! Had no idea what to do!!
Details :
I had to take a photocopy of the passport in the company's XEROX machine. After I had taken a copy it was mysteriously missing..
Since, we were all given MS bags, I guessed I should have kept it in someone else's.
I asked everyone to search...NOBODY HAD IT!!
Went to company security, checked CCTV cameras, searched Everywhere!! Nope!

3. Meanwhile, House hunting began. There was this house which my roommate and I liked.. But they wont allow bachelor's it seems.. His mom decided to stay with us for sometime.. I thought that was the end of the prob.. NO! that's wen it started,

4th Sept was a saturday.. we had been given 9-12 am off to do registrations..
(the owner was not available from 5th-12th, we wud be left homeless if we hadn't done it then)

SEPT 4th :

Morn 10.30 : We go to the bank and take a dd.

11 30 : We re at the registraion office. The writer says the DD is payable only in Chennai. WE RE SHOCKED:O (There had been a miscommunication..The banker asked where? WE said WE are from Chennai!! But she meant where the DD should be payable)

12 30 : We rush to the Bank, bank is closed.

12 45 :
WE persuade the manager. They seem convinced now.

1 35 : We rush to the registration office.. GUESS WAT? ITS LUNCH TIME!!!!!!! :@

1 45 : we call our manager saying we ll be late.

2 30 :
We strt our registraion work

4 45 :
Police verification

6 00 : We reach office :P HAHA!!! wat a day :P

We were thinking of calling our manager and sayin we reached just now, but we dint :P
WE SILENTLY CREPT IN :P

BY THE WAY, I get a call from the HR sayin the passport was in some guy's bag.. DARN that guy!!! he gave me sleeples nights.

4.THEN, in order to live in an apt in mumbai u re to be part of a society. They asked me for a membership fee of 100. They wont accept cash. I dint have a cheque book for my Chennai account. I gave them a cheque of my new HDFC account.

GUESS WAT?? HDFC dint activate the account on time.
Cheque bounced.

Penalty : Rs 100. I still don't have a bank account. I now gave my friend's cheque for Rs.200..

GUESS WAT?? They wont accept Bombay cheques.

Finally, the broker himself gave a cheque of his own.. PHEW!!!

That's just three weeks !!!

As I type, my mind echoes "சொர்கமே என்றாலும் ...."

P.s : Although, Mumbai , Morgan and I is the correct syntax, "me" is used because its my blog and I have my own poetic justice:D

P.S : DEDICATED TO MY MOM :)

Meaning : When rockets are being launched in fractions of a second and lives are being spared in the blink of an eye, when humanity is caught on the hands of change, when the rush of the world results in loss of true love, Is there something that is a CERTAINTY? Is there something that has no obstacles? Is there something that can forgive me and love irrespective of how bad I am?

As I give up on the search of the solution, I hear a voice in the distance which answers my question.. I feel stupid.. Even when being chucked out, there is a heart which looks after you, an unconditional love which flows like a rampaging river.. I get my answer. THERE IS ONE CERTAINTY.. ITS MOTHER's LOVE.. IT IS A NEVER ENDING AND EVER LASTING LOVE.

Happy 2000 :) - Test Cricket - Myths

I sit here writing this blog after the completion of Day 4 of India Vs England match at Lords. 100 th test match between the two sides and the 2000th overall. Although I couldn catch most of it due to my Tirupathi trip, I tuned in for the interesting parts of Day 4.

1.Stuart Broad and Matt Prior's
2.Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman's partnership.

(I missed Ishant's spell :()

FOR THE CRITICISMS THAT TEST CRICKET HAS FACED, this match and take my word, this entire series is going to revive the Grand Old format of Cricket. Just four days into the series we have had glimpses of brilliance in batting (KP - 202*) , banana swing bowling (PK 5-for) , TECHNICAL PERFECTION (RD - 103*) ,lion hearted bowling performances (Broad,Ishant 4-for's), major collapses (Eng 62-5),determined comebacks (Prior and broad partnership) ,worrying injuries (ZK and GG) and What not of cricket. I would rather stick out my tongue to say that The INDIANS WILL FIGHT REALLY HARD TO SECURE A DRAW IN THIS TEST.

This is TEST CRICKET. AT ITS BEST. ITS not monotonic. IT is a mixture of emotions. IT WILL STAY. And so will the cover drives, the slip catches, the forward defence, the short legs, the silly points, the night watchman and the exciting draws.

Myth 1 : TEST CRICKET is accused of not producing results.
Reality: The result is that Cricket is the winner.

Myth 2: YOU NEED KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CRICKET TO WATCH TEST MATCHES.
Reality: Take a look at the faces of the players, you can see determination, respect, passion and pride they exhibit which will makes you realize that YOU ARE WATCHING SOMETHING SPECIAL.

Myth 3: Dot balls are boring.
Reality : Its tough to defend than to attack. A batsman has to judge the swing of the ball, the line, the length, understand the pitch, the field positions, the match situation.etc in order to defend a ball. But to attack, you just have to see it and hit it.

Myth 4: Five days are too long.
Reality : Its a "TEST". Its about perseverance.

Myth 5: T20s and ODIs are faster and better.
Reality: Test Cricket is the highest form. Its the dream of cricketer. ODI and T20's are like action movies. Test Cricket is a CLASSIC.

Myth 6: Test cricket is declining.
Reality : I m gonna quote our Indian captain MS. "It looks good for another 2000" :).

Myth 7: I m really old and boring.
Reality : I m young (just 21) and the second part is upto you to decide :P :)

Be the miracle...

This might turn out to be a failure. But I'm happy that I tried. Also, if this works out, I'm proud of it.

As the title suggests, enough of expecting changes. We blame our Government for what it isn't providing. Are we doing our duties well? Do we deserve the rights? I am going to jot down some changes that I would like to see in an Indian citizen. These might be simple, but remember, A journey of 1000 miles begins from a small step.

I don't wanna make this monotonous or preach discipline. For I am not good enough. I want this article to be collaborative and co-operative. Please add on your opinions/other changes you would like to see in the comments box. Even if one person changes a single habit of his, this article has achieved its aim.

1.STOP LITTERING. ITS OUR COUNTRY. Will you mess your own house?

2.STOP SPITTING. I don't want your infections man.

3.NO SMOKING IN PUBLIC PLACES. (Oh! This is already a law, ain't it?) Then Why the hell don't you abide by it?

4.PAY YOUR TAXES.(Only if you do your duties, you can demand your rights. I think you are too old enough to teach you Civics.)

5.OBEY TRAFFIC RULES.(Stop at signals. Hate it when I'm being forced by the driver behind me to move when the signal is in RED).

6.STOP ABUSING IN PUBLIC.( MTC bus or train passengers, you might know the value of this).

I have a stated a few. Its now up to you to add on and act upon the issues.

P.S : IF you think that I don't deserve to say all this, Well, Ya, I accept. But I at least try my best. And, that's what I expect from everyone.

P.P.S: If you have commented or changed something, Hats Off. This is dedicated to you.

Regrets? Failure?

Every human being has something to regret. Its the law of nature. IDEAL OR PERFECT behavior exists only in theory. Answers to the questions of WHAT? WHY? and HOW MUCH? decides the impact of the incident on the human life. For Mahathma Gandhi it was something as simple as stealing from a garden. For the average athmas its much more. It could vary from small-scale stealing, drug addictions, perversion and so on. It could be a single day or a phase of life. But it has definitely left a scar in the heart. The older you are, the greater the scars.

So, What's my point? Not to remind you of the worst phases of your life. But to help you move on. DONT Look behind. It is DEAD AND BURIED. IF you know you have been bad, be good now. Do good.

Never regret. If its good. its wonderful. If its bad, its an experience. A lesson learnt the hard way.

Live life in such a way that at the end of it YOU CAN PROUDLY SAY

"TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN"

"I've done things I wish I hadn't. However, I had stood up and done some things that I wish everybody should do."

Ya, that will feel much better. Don't dwell upon the past. Look out for the future. Every human being has a reason to die. However, there is a reason to live as well. Find that out and work on it. Its ok to have been bad. BUT IT IS NOT OK TO BE BAD. If you change, the world waits for you with open arms.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Ya. The two most important things in my life. The people and the play. First, we will look at the play.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Split into 10 seasons, this by far, is the best English series of our times. The characters have lived after their virtual deaths and the episodes have become immortal. I bet my life on the fact that there is no one who can stop watching this in the middle. Its a fact that some of the best depictions on the screen are the ones closest to reality. There are no CAN-DO-NOTHING-WRONG heroes, FELL-FROM-HEAVEN heroines, IMPOSSIBLE circumstances or MAN-AGAINST-ALIENS/ROBOTS/DISEASES. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is a masterpiece because of the fact that everyone of us can relate to the people and the incidents on the screen. They are careless, casual, non-chalant and funny. This series makes complete justice to the words "The best comedy arises from the deepest sorrows".

No story, No twist , No nonsense. F.R.I.E.N.D.S is a celebration of life, the exuberance of youth and the glory of friendship. Personally, F.R.I.E.N.D.S is the goto series when I am feeling happy or sad, ecstatic or hurt, betrayed or depressed, together with friends or alone.

FRIENDS

One of the most interesting human relationship. For it defies all logic. Gone are those days where Friends are those people who help you clear exams in school or college by lending their books. Thanks to single-child-syndrome, nuclear-family-systems, generation-gap, cellphones and social networks, Friendship is the MOST IMPORTANT part of human life, at least in terms of time. A Friend, in my point of view, can be explained as "Someone whom you can dare to be YOURSELF and can be sure that they will stick with you and love you, NO MATTER WHAT". How to identify good friends?? I can't say exactly. But here are few points from what I have seen and learnt for "Experience is always the best teacher."

1. It has to HAPPEN. Friendship is not formed, IT HAPPENS.
2. A friend should ACCEPT you as you are and not as someone he wants you to be.
3. Old cliches still hold good. A friend in need is a friend in deed.
4. A friend is someone with whom you can communicate in silence.
5. NO WORDS. Actions are the ultimate reflections of love.
6. A friend is like a magician who holds you on the knife edge, You stop trusting, you stop breathing.
7. A friend can be a part of the family, but can never replace it.
8. A friend for life is the one who messages you from the adjacent grave.

Friendship is actually the most confused relationship, for everyone can come under this category. Good friends are not someone who will help you go up the ladder. But they are the ones who will catch you when you fall and help you get up by giving their shoulder. I have been blessed with great friends. I am proud of each and every one of them. To all my friends, Wishing more night stays, rummy, cricket, carrom, unnecessary fights, hugs, and lots more. "Love you all".

Are you a successful human being?

There is one question that has always been ringing on my mind. "How do you rate the success of a human being??". No doubt as an Engineer I would always like to have an absolute quantitative measure to the success or failure of human life. Is it possible? There are a lot of constraints. How do you compare technical excellence and creative intelligence? How do you compare physical brilliance and philosophical knowledge? We know a great list of successful people. But there is one thing common to everyone of them. I think in their graph of life, their crests are as high as the depth of their troughs. So, as you would know, Their averages again reduce to a minimal. In the ages to come, people will soon forget and move on, as they did to every Tom, Dick and Harry in history.

So, HOW DO YOU RATE THE SUCCESS OF AN INDIVIDUAL if the success of so called successful people is so confusing? For an average human being, supporting his family is a success. So, the measure of success should be independent of the actual goal.It should just be proportional to the number of times the goal is obtained. {Because goals vary based on each individual}.Also, the measure of success should be independent of the individual, his likes/dislikes, his passion, his talent {because not all people are equally talented} and everything else that cannot be generalized. However, Success should always be proportional to the effort. OK, So based on the above facts, I Formed this theory of life on my own. It might be wrong, but I am happy its my own.

Success of a human life = Number of times he has achieved the goal where the GOAL should be selfless and should be positive for the consequent of the goal.

This is nothing new. IT comes from Nature. EVERYONE lives a symbiotic life where GIVE=TAKE. But the men who stand out on the sands of time in the annals of human life are those who have GIVE>TAKE.

So, my conclusion, Your success is actually equal to the success of that human being whom you have helped selflessly to succeed. Now, IF you think of everyone successful, This theory holds. :)

This is like a the teasers you see when the main picture gets boring. Sharing some of my "poems" :)

Note : Came up with these easy play of words while I was thinking about "Love at first sight".

Note: Dedicated to all those who were, are and will be cheated by women.

P.S : "தாய்குளம் வாழ்க ". This is just an idea that occurred to me and not my opinion. It does not apply to all women.

Note: Live to love. Love to live. :)

Note: To all those wonderful talks we have. :)

Note : During one of those dreadful days, where you start questioning whether your existence makes any difference to this world.

E-L-E-C-T-I-O-N R-E-S-U-L-T-S 2011

After two days of delay thanks to PC repair, which took two computer science engineers from anna university wondering WHAT the hell could be wrong, only to be figured out by a BCA student that it was just "dust" in the processor that caused the repair and after two more days of blog maintenance repair by blogger.com. Here I am :)(Back to boring you :P)

Anyway, in between these four days was that ONE DAY IN FIVE YEARS where everyone is glued to their television sets, radios and newspapers, NOT FOR CRICKET SCORES,NOT FOR MOVIE RELEASES and NOT FOR WEATHER FORECASTS. It is a genuine curiosity to know what their fellow beings are thinking and who is the new leader to be incarnated. As it turned out, 2011 election results was like one of those Aus Vs Ban matches, where right from the first ball you know who is going to be the winner. Clearly, People Voted for CHANGE. IT was more of a NO CONFIDENCE MOTION rather than a support for the opposition.

At 1 o'clock, it became clear who is going to be the new CM and i went to watch the movie "KO" {ironic isn't it? :D}. As it turned out, the film was good except for the heroine which has become a cliche in Tamil films. Take out the heroine, a couple of her songs and scenes, you will have a good movie. I don't know when our directors are going to realize this.

With the election results and the movie kindling my thoughts, I began wondering what will be the time when people start questioning their candidates for qualification. For being placed in a software company, i had to go through 7 rounds of processing! But for someone who has the power to change the country, all it takes is M-O-N-E-Y, F-A-M-E or in some cases C-A-S-T-E. Perplexed at the attitude of the people, all i could say was no matter even if 100% people turn up to vote and everyone votes based on their choice, If the candidates are not selected based on their educational and moral background, all we can form is a clumsy government, which we will have to wait for 5 more years to be dethroned and to be given to someone even worse. All i can say now is,

"Raman andalum ravanan andalum enakkoru kavalai illai".

Because

"Intha ulagathil evanume raman illai".

Lyric Engineering..

It might be too early for most of you to be aware of this term. But it has arrived. And i must say with a bang!!!

What is this lyric engineering?
It is a product that results when a successful poet and lyricist's son ends up becoming a computer science professor. So, the product combines the best of both the fields. OK, to be less confusing, Lyric Engineering is the process finding the suitable words for the song based on its tune. An ideal lyric engineering system should be able to give lyrics as output when given a tune input. The output is based on the following conditions
"1. The words form meaningful sentences that suits the situation provided.
2. The phonemes in the words to suit the mood of the tune and situation.
3. Maximize edhugai monai and iyaibu properties of lyrics without compromising conditions 1 & 2.
4. Find words and phrases that are simple, not been used before and semantically related to each other."

For more details, visit http://madhankarky.blogspot.com/2009/11/lyrics-lyric-engineering.html

So, although I was AWESTRUCK when I heard that "Irumbile" song was lyric engineered, I have started wondering if this is the right path for the future. I am not at all denying the powerfulness or the efficiency of the software. Its the concept behind that I am skeptical about. Can these systems be fully developed to automise the process, removing the need for a lyricist?
Of course, with the lyrics being penned down these days such as
"En toothpaste nee than, en shower gel nee than..","Evan peathan, avan sethan bla bla",
I would rather pray for the fast development of such systems. However, I doubt the sheer imaginative capacity of such a software. Would it be able to meet the standards set by its own source(I trace it back to Mr.Vairamuthu{father(father("Lyric Engg"))) ?

So, Its NEW. It might create one of those classic debates. "Lyric Engg - Augurs or Hinders Creativity?". No one knows the answer. AS of now,"Google kanatha thedalgalil ithuvum ondru :)"

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRST VWXYZ..

(Can't comprehend the title?? Look out for the tag.)

Its amazing how the perception of life can be totally changed by the presence or absence of someone. Someone you LOVE. You never realize how much someone means to you as long as you haven had a chance to miss them. Missing someone is your heart's way of saying, "You idiot, you need him/her to survive". I have had the chance to miss someone and it showed me what she means to me. She is my OXYGEN. The very reason for my existence. I wonder if there is any Tamil equivalent for "I miss you". For its the first time i feel i am not able to express something in my mother tongue. But I know languages are just representations of emotions and if they can be felt, there is no need for explicit explanations..

So make it a point,NEVER HESITATE to tell, Your out-of-touch school or college friends, Your loved ones living across borders, Your cousins and relatives living in different towns, Your siblings studying in different places, Your parents,Your teachers, last but not least, Your Crush,Partner,Beloved or Wife whom you haven seen for a week, ANYONE AND EVERYONE AS AND WHEN YOU FEEL,

"I miss you.I need you back for the normal functioning of my life".

For its one of the most beautiful emotions. Although not completely human, Missing is one of the most wonderful human attributes that depicts the yearning for connectivity and support from another soul. IT makes us What we are.
Connected set of individuals!

Passion=Profession? Jealous!

How many days have gone by you in your life where you have felt "NOTHING HAPPENED TODAY.OMG!! WHAT DID I EVEN DO TODAY??". What do you think makes the real difference? We would have done the same thing as the day before. The difference is the drive. What is passion? It is something that can sustain that drive for a lifetime. Almost all of us at some point have wondered about the monotonicity of life. Isn't in our hands to make it better? Identifying your passion is not difficult. Its about pursuing in that path. Would you think Kamal Haasan would ve never acted, if he had not become a successful one? Of course, no. Would Sachin have not played cricket if he had'n achieved anything? NO! He would have still been playing in those streets of Mumbai. This is because the drive is not towards glory. It is towards the contentment of the soul. It is the pleasure. THE REAL ONE. Passion could be ANYTHING. Cleaning, Playing,Eating,Flying,Acting,Coding,Designing.ANYTHING. But you should let it out. NO matter what. Its as important to your soul as eating is to your body. So, the next time, you have a chance to do something that your soul yearns, just let it out, for life is not about the milestones but about the moments !! :)

Sachin- not a name. Its a phenomenon.

Ya.. IT felt nice. To be a part of the Google search for the first time. Now that i know there are chances that someone might be actually interested in what i am gonna say, I feel the pressure. Of course i know a trick or two about what could make people interested. To get attention, I can start with,

1. Sachin Tendulkar.
2. Ronaldo Vs messi.
3. A.R.Rahman.
4. More of Sachin.
5. Mani rathnam
6. Obama
7. The God of cricket.
8. The royal wedding
9. Master Blaster

Ok, i think you would have got the point. For someone who knows me, this might not be a surprise. Anyway, after 1212849023752043760832 blogs, newspapers, articles and videos analyzing, criticizing, hailing, wondering, worshiping and drooling over Sachin, I swear I have got nothing new. Although not a bag fan of infinite monkey theorem, I can boldly say that if its implemented with Machine learning, the first fact would have been, "For all x, if Religion(x,Cricket)-> God(x,Sachin)".{oops, sorry about that, Still hung over AI exam[Hope i clear].} I am his devotee who is more than happy to have witnessed his divinity, live. To be extremely honest, what Sachin provides is salvation. 143,134,175,200*,92,140* and many other numbers have been set apart from the rest and their souls have rested in peace.

R-ole model. The greatest ever- Gary Kirsten.

IT's a mortal's dream. IT's a divine intervention. Call it whatever. Its real and happening. Sachin's straight drive has more followers than some religions. Whenever he quits playing, there is a part of me that would be a dead. A part - a mixture of the childhood hero, the architect of my adult life and the ONLY ROLE MODEL for the rest of my life.

And it begins.. with nothing!

Just to see what the fuss is all about. Just to get the experience of sharing it out in cyberspace. Just to have the experience of being read by someone who has no clue who i am or what i am talking about. So, it begins. BLOGGING. No idea what to write now. No ideas that could stir your minds, nothing that could make you laugh out loud, nothing that could make you feel awestruck or nothing that could make you feel sorry or sympathetic. I m beginning to wonder if it will all end too soon. And I may not even share this. Is it just the holiday boredom?? Is it the weight of 4 years of Coll that made me feel its my time to let it out? will this be the first and last blog? No idea. But i ve started. I know things begin with nothing. I have no idea of what direction this walk of my life is heading to! But i wanna run this path. Till it trips me or i get tired and exhausted. "Ethayum oru murai". {"Try everything once"}. So, my first attempt. I don know if i am gonna fail!! but i m just glad i tried. Isn't that what life is all about? Sweet nothings? :)
