Are you a successful human being?

There is one question that has always been ringing on my mind. "How do you rate the success of a human being??". No doubt as an Engineer I would always like to have an absolute quantitative measure to the success or failure of human life. Is it possible? There are a lot of constraints. How do you compare technical excellence and creative intelligence? How do you compare physical brilliance and philosophical knowledge? We know a great list of successful people. But there is one thing common to everyone of them. I think in their graph of life, their crests are as high as the depth of their troughs. So, as you would know, Their averages again reduce to a minimal. In the ages to come, people will soon forget and move on, as they did to every Tom, Dick and Harry in history.

So, HOW DO YOU RATE THE SUCCESS OF AN INDIVIDUAL if the success of so called successful people is so confusing? For an average human being, supporting his family is a success. So, the measure of success should be independent of the actual goal.It should just be proportional to the number of times the goal is obtained. {Because goals vary based on each individual}.Also, the measure of success should be independent of the individual, his likes/dislikes, his passion, his talent {because not all people are equally talented} and everything else that cannot be generalized. However, Success should always be proportional to the effort. OK, So based on the above facts, I Formed this theory of life on my own. It might be wrong, but I am happy its my own.

Success of a human life = Number of times he has achieved the goal where the GOAL should be selfless and should be positive for the consequent of the goal.

This is nothing new. IT comes from Nature. EVERYONE lives a symbiotic life where GIVE=TAKE. But the men who stand out on the sands of time in the annals of human life are those who have GIVE>TAKE.

So, my conclusion, Your success is actually equal to the success of that human being whom you have helped selflessly to succeed. Now, IF you think of everyone successful, This theory holds. :)
